Enervive: Encouraging the creativity within all mental disorders

A story

There was a woman who was diagnosed with a mental disorder. Over the years, she switched from doctor to doctor, therapist to therapist, and her diagnosis changed several times.

With all the attention to her ever-changing mental disorder, she grew to be more and more frustrated with herself. She was disappointed that she was mentally ill. She felt weak and unable to work effectively at her accounting job, and her productivity declined.

The folks around her blamed the changes in her attitude on the mental disorder. However, the real cause of her deterioration was a lack of confidence brought on by the diagnosis and its negative connotations.

Soon she lost her job. She was unemployed for quite some time, and she felt unemployable because of her mental disorder. She moved into her aunt's home and spent the days crying in bed or watching television for hours.

Then one day she began to write to pass the time. She grew obsessed with her writing. She wrote constantly, forgetting about what was going on around her at times. She wrote until she had completed a beautiful novel about her struggle with her mental disorder. The woman sent copies of her novel to many publishers. Today she is waiting to receive a response from them, but she is hopeful and very optimistic.

In the meantime, a friend of her aunt has hired her as a journalist for a local weekly magazine, after reading a brilliant excerpt of her work.
